Having a self care routine is so important for your mental health and avoiding burn out but sometimes it can be overwhelming when you’re trying to plan out a routine. I’ve figured out over the years what exactly is relaxing for me and I’m going to share my self care routine with you today!
Exercise
First up is exercise, and I think that it is so important. In the past, I haven’t always put working out as a priority but it is so true what they say- you never regret a workout once you’re finished. Staying motivated to work out is hard, so try to find an exercise that you truly look forward to doing. Before the pandemic, I was going to hip hop hot yoga classes every week and it was magical. Now, I try to use the FitOn app/ website and find either a barre, dance, or yoga class even if it’s only 10 minutes long. Moving your body is a great way to care for your body and mental health.
Vitamins
Another really simple way to add self care into your routine is to be consistent with your vitamins. I take fish oil, a multivitamin, lysine, folic acid, probiotics, and inner bark- I will link them below. It’s so easy to do it once a day and a great way to show yourself your love.
Luxurious Bath and Shower
If I have an evening to myself, I love to blast some music and take a long bath with a hemp bath bomb, a body scrub, a face mask, and shaving my legs. Sometimes I will have a glass of wine and just pamper myself. These are some of my favorite products:
Cooking
My absolute favorite self-care activity is cooking. Some people hate it, but I find it very therapeutic to pick out a new recipe and watch it come to life or cook one of my favorite meals. Making and then enjoying a nutritious and filling meal is such a great way to really show yourself some love. Make something new or make something you love- either way, be present while you do it and truly enjoy it.
