hi, friends!
Excellence Playa Mujeres

This review is almost a year late, but it is the definition of better late than never! Excellence Playa Mujeres was such a great resort, and obviously holds a special place in our hearts so I wanted to share our experience!

Starting from walking out of the airport baggage claim, it was relatively easy to spot the airport shuttle service (complimentary with so many nights and booked directly through the resort), and to get situated into our private transfer-the service was great and fast. When we arrived, we were promptly checked in and headed to our room. We stayed in a swim up junior suite that had a huge king bed, a couch, a hot tub in the room, and a private porch.

Food & Drinks

The hotel had so many restaurants, I think we ate at a different one for almost every meal! Two of our favorite restaurants were Basmati, the Indian restaurant and Chez Isabelle, the French restaurant. We didn’t eat a bad thing at all during the entire trip, and even the room service was great. Most mornings, I would order us room service breakfast and it was always good. Room service was also 24 hours a day, so we could order whenever we wanted! Service was prompt and the food always arrived hot.

The drinks were great, too! I would just walk right up and ask them for their recommendation and I would get an amazing drink! We would always go to Martini Bar before dinner and their drink menu was expansive and had something for everyone! The poolside drink service was semi-lacking, but there was a walk up bar and a swim up bar near the pool and they were very prompt in service!

Right outside our room- that’s our private porch in the back!

Entertainment

I’m not a huge resort show type of person but the entertainment at EPM was great! There was always some sort of a daytime show or party at the main pool and then a fun activity after dinner hours at night. Our favorite by far was the silent disco- it just happened to be the night we got engaged and we had a blast dancing away with the headphones on!

It did rain a lot while we were there but between the spa, the staff entertainment and the constant flow of drinks, we were able to enjoy ourselves! They offered board games and we made some resort friends that helped pass the time during the rain showers!

Overall

Obviously we had a great time on this trip, but what made it even more special is this is the trip where we got engaged!

My beautiful ring!

We would definitely recommend this resort for a couples’ trip and we’re even planning a trip to Excellence El Carmen in the spring! Let me know over on Instagram if you book a trip there or have any questions!
