St. Patrick’s Day is one of my favorite holidays- I mean, who doesn’t love a holiday dedicated to beer? Plus, I’m super Irish and two years ago spent St. Patrick’s Day in Dublin and it was amazing. I always try to do something for the holiday and last year I wasn’t able to due to the pandemic so this year I am determined to make the most of it. We are still social distancing and only meeting up with our bubble but we are definitely celebrating St. Patrick’s Day at home.
Have a brunch bubble party
We are having our bubble over for brunch the weekend before, and I am so excited. Of course, I am going to decorate with some semi-cheesy decorations just as I have for New Year’s Eve and the Super Bowl. It just makes it a little more fun to get together! Here’s what I’ve ordered for our brunch:
Make it Green
I think this is because my mom always did this when we were growing up, but I like to dye everything I can that day green. Since we’re having brunch, I’ll be dying the mimosas green! Beer? Make it green. Mashed potatoes? Green. Pancakes? Green. Pretty much anything I eat will be green on St. Patrick’s Day. I just think it is so fun!
Corned Beef
The quintessential Irish meal on St. Patrick’s Day has always been corned beef in our house. This year will be the first year I am making it by myself and I’m so excited! M gave me an Irish pub favorites cookbook for Christmas, and I can’t wait to make a traditional meal to celebrate our heritage!
