hi, friends!

Now that I am officially engaged, I am so excited to share the wedding planning process with you all! I want to share the process and be a resource for anyone else who will be planning a wedding in the future but also to have these posts to look back on in the future.

Back in July, Mike and I started planning. And I don’t mean just chatting about things, but reaching out to venues, touring them (well we ended up only having to tour one- it was perfect!), and booking vendors. Months before the engagement even happened. Why do you ask? Well let me tell you.

Last year, I stumbled across a wedding venue on Instagram. It was perfect- a bed and breakfast with a pool, we could stay the whole weekend, etc. etc. Well, I contacted them and with the influx of COVID postponed weddings and newly engaged couples, they were fully booked until 2023. It was important for me to get married in 2022, so we discussed it and decided that we needed to start planning sooner rather than later- diamond ring on my hand or not. We agreed that we would plan in secret until it was all official, and honestly it was really fun having a secret just between us!

After speaking to some vendors, it seems that this method of planning is pretty popular in this season of life! We found a venue (I haven’t decided if I want to share with you all before or save it…) and toured it, and booked it immediately for August 27, 2022! After that, we found a caterer and a photographer and got to work starting on the details. Well, at least I did.

I plan on DIY-ing most of the wedding decor, but we’re lucky enough that the venue has plenty of natural beauty so I really don’t need to do that much! I can’t wait for this whole process, the wedding itself, and finally marrying the love of my life.
