Easy (Cheesy) Cottage Pie

russet potatoes
peeled and cut into cubes

butter

half and half
or milk

onion
diced

garlic

frozen or fresh, of your choosing

black pepper

tsp

onion powder

tbsp
garlic salt
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Set a large pot of water to boil. Add salt and potatoes once boiling.
Once potatoes are fork tender, drain them and mash with butter and half and half until a creamy consistency. Set aside.
Meanwhile, add onion and garlic to a pan and cook until onions are soft, about 3-5 minutes.
Add ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion salt to pan with onions and garlic.
When ground beef is mostly cooked, add frozen veggies to pan.
Cook for a few more minutes, until ground beef is completely cooked.
In a baking dish, add the ground beef mixture and spread the mashed potatoes on top. If desired, sprinkle cheese on top (cheddar works great).
Bake for 15 minutes until warmed through and optional cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve immediately.
