Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Wash potatoes and poke with a fork a few times. Wrap each potato in foil and place into the preheated oven. Bake for an hour, or until potatoes are baked fully through. *
Once potatoes are cooked through and cooled enough to touch, cut each potato in half lengthwise. Scoop out the inside of the potato into a mixing bowl. Leave the skins to the side.
Add in sour cream, butter, ranch, milk, and cheese. Add salt and pepper to taste. Mix thoroughly.
Scoop potato mixture back into potato skins. Add more cheese on top, if desired.
Put potatoes back into oven until cheese is melted, about 5-10 minutes. Serve warm.
